April 10, 1995

Well folks... the weather here is not getting any better...

It ia about 35 degrees and there is ice forming on power lines and light poles...

nice way to start out an 8 game homestand...

I think everybody is welcoming the time off... to get into apartments and to just unwind from spring training...

The atmosphere around the clubhouse is picking up... all the replacements have had time too talk to some of the more experienced players with some ML time... like Miller and Rassmussen... we have these pow-wows and just throw things up and find out how every- body feels... it is starting to warm up and we can now do what we are supposed to do.. play as a team and win and also get ourselves back to the Majors...

I am currently working on some mechanics in my wind-up... our pitching coach Alverez.. has me doinw something to take a little strian off my left shoulder... which would help my control and velocity as well as my longevity... I feel they are intereseted in getting me back to full speed... and hope I am given enough time to do just that... it could take 3 weeks more or 3 months... I really am not sure... but I am betting on the 3 weeks...

Rumours are that there will be snow tonight... another great omen... I have only seen snow during baseball in 1986 when in AAA we opened up the season in Edmonton Canada...

tomorrow the new screamer gets here and I can spend the day getting it up and running.. I can't wait... only problem is I have 2 HD's and my C: is for DOS-FAT and the D: is NTFS and Windows NT 3.5... I am not sure I can just switch CPU's like that with NT... I have heard there is optimized code for NT and 586 MB's as well as the built-in PCI EIDE controller and new BIOS stuff... I will find out... but I am keeping the laptop until thurs to have as a backup, just in case I can't get this thing going...

A total re-install is not what I really want to do... but I made a point of backing up all my email and news messages I have recieved onto tape...

gotta go...

Quote for the day: none... just that Ben Crenshaw won the Masters... after his long- time mentor Harvey Pennick passed away last week...Ben dedicated his play to Harvey and he won... ;) Great job Ben...
