I have found out that Dave and Georges phone will be back on by Monday afternoon... I have already taken the bus to PingTung and purchased some phone cable and some connectors and such... I have my end all taken care of and will run the line up to Georges room tomorrow, this will just add a second way to get to this number... but will enable me to use the line late at night and to add a phone from my modem at a later date... the phone is really not a problem... but getting a line to my computer has been... I can go down the street and call my wife using our AT-T card any time... but I really need about 30 minutes twce a week or maybe 1 hour each Sunday to get all my stuff... IF I could just get that darned CServe account there is short call to Kaochung but they only have 2400 baud access.... this would solve my being able to send dailys... I could afford the price to access the system on a about .10 a minute US.. then use 30 minutes a week to get onto the Web... I really need to find a MPEG Softare driver for my Diamond Stealth Video VRAM PCI card... I have access to my games pitching and they will put them on a disk for free... the newspaper owns part of the TV system which in turn owns our team... nice little set-up heh? anyway... I have seen MPEG decoders for about 160.00 over here... but they take 2 IRQ'S and 1 DMA channel... I have the room... but there is a problem with my set-up.. with more 16 meg of memory the ancient drivers they have for them give windows a fit.. and since I have 32 megs I would have to take 16 meg out just to run a ball-game... I also like the idea of watching a movie on my PC... they have all the great files on Video-CD now.. I already purchased Caddy-Shack and once Diamond begins selling the Hardware MPEG add-on card for the STealth card it will be in there... There are little companies around here that will copy a CD for next to nothing... I paid 6.00 US$ to get a back-up of WIndows NT 3.5 Workstation... this might not be totally legal.. but I am using it purely for archive purposes... I have scratched the last one and paid 30.00 for a new one... and had to wait 3 weeks... I also thought it would be nice for some of the better games I have... PGA486 and some of the more expensive ones... I know alot of companies will send you a new one if your old one gets scratched... but how long does that take... Now if you see that I am suddenly selling all my CD's you can call the Software Police!!!! but that wont happen...

I can't wait for Monday.. when I can sit down and actually run Netcom and see Netscape's little thingy twirling in the right hand corner... I will be BACK!!!!!

WE have a big 3 weeks here... we are 1.5 games out of first place and play the first place team 4 days on a row next week in PingTung... this is what we want... WE go out and win 3 out of 4 we can gain some ground... but it is all in our hands... we don't have to hope some other team beats them... we hold our first half in our own hands...

I feel great... but trying to convince the manager is another thing... they want guys to throw everyday... have seen a guy throw a 15 minute bullpen then go out the next day and throw 7 innings... and his arm was killing him... they need to let their arms rest and re-coup...
