June 8, 1995

I have started to pack my stuff... I was told I would be leaving on the 11th and flying up to Tai Pei the morning of the 10th... the computer section in TAi Pei is great... I bought the CD-ROM of Dark Forces (Star Wars version of DOOM) for 22.00 US$ but the hardware is as much if not more than in the states... you have to bargain shop and once you find a good deal then hem and haw they guy down a few bucks...

I really feel a sense of relief about knowing I am going home... they guys here, George and Dave have resorted to quick little remarks about you really snowed 'em here did'nt you?! but I truly wanted to pitch.. they were the ones who decided if I was to t hrow or not... deep down I know they would love to be on that plane with me! Dave is having a tough time with the team right now... he had a bad outing an they just sat him down for the past 2 weeks... Shit, in the states, you throw your starter out there and if you see that for 2-3 starts in a row, then you might worry... but he is our #1 starter and they have treated him like dirt... It makes me wonder where I stood to start with?!

I'm taking as many photos as possible.. and will have a few good ones scanned and FTP them to David... I will be back state-side by the 13th and try to hook up with a team or sign with an Independant league... I can still throw and they just paid me to st ay in shape for the past month... not a bad deal in any hemisphere!

The access over her is the worst... I have a Compuserve account but my access point says in the literature its is 9600 baud , but I download mail text at 120 cps or 1200 baud, so you tell me... So I sat down and weighed the prices... I can get my mail and send it cheaper if I just call my Netcom Node in LA and do a quick session.. that is at 28,800 bps so you do the math... the call is 10/minute more... but about 20 times faster...

I gotta go..

David has the pages updated and they lokk great as always...

later...
