March 14, 1995

Well... I had a bad outing... well not that bad.. but I took the loss and that is all that matters... I would rather pitch poorly and win than pitch great and lose...

I had graet stuff and did'nt put away a lefty when I had the chance...

The game was going very fast and I had the top of the 9th...

The score was 0-0 and we had 3 hits the Mets had 1

I started the 9th and got the forst guy, a lefty to hit a weak grounder to the 2nd baseman.. the second guy was a right hander and on a 3-2 fastball I threw a great one.. and struck him out swinging...

The 3rd guy was aonther lefty and I worked the count to 2-2 and missed with a fastball... that took it to 3-2... I shook off the catcher to get to a curveball.. and threw my best cutrveball of spring... and the umpire called it strike 3... but as he did that the catcher could'nt hold on to the pitch and it rolled away... the runner took off to first and the catcher ( Bailey ) threw wide and pulled the first baseman off the bag...

I had to suck it up and pick him up... and did'nt the next guy singled and I had first and second with 2 out... then the next guy a righty carved a 0-0 fastball what was a good pitch to right... the runer on 2nd scored... I got the next guy to fly to center to end the inning...

I felt bad for the catcher... We had the 3rd out and he could'nt hold on to it.. then could'nt make a good throw to the first baseman... but the final thing was that I had two chances to get the third out after that and did'nt... so I have to take the responsibility...

The arm felt good and the curveball was good after I took a little off of it and let the ball do the work instead of trying to make it break...

I made a mistake on yesterdays post... JJ Munoz was not released the other day... it was Ray Quinones another LHP... It was a bad source...
