Sorry about last night...
The darned phones went out last night as I was reading my mail and then it took over 4 hours to get them back on... and that was well after 1 am... It was a scheduled day off and we just had a light workout in the morning.. went over all the bunt plays... and defenses as well as the pick-offs for the pitchers...
I spent the afternoon in Kissimmee. its about 20 minutes away and it is my old stomping grounds.. I spent 10 springs trainings in Kissimmee while with the Astros.
After a good dinner at the Outback I took in a great movie... which I will recommend to all. I really liked the movie and Rene Russo was still looking great WITH the virus!...
anyway... they let go 4 more players...

got to know him during spring and it's hard when a guy you locker next to goes. You start
looking over your shoulder for the equipment guy who comes to tell you the skipper wants
to talk to you!!
I did have one good thing happen today.. the head Equipment guy asked me what size my uniform is and what size pants I need... This would get most guys excited... but the cagey ol' veteran is not going to count on anything until I hear the National Anthem on Opening Day in Detroit!!!
If the owners smell a settlement brewing... they would bang this replacement thing so fast it would make your eyes spin... They want their real players out there.. and If there were some light at the end of the tunnel in the next 3-4 days... they would cancel everything to start a late spring training and later start of the regular season...
But that is where the Players Union comes in... they look like they are standing tough and that is their right... I have nothing against any player... I just want to use this opportunity to get my arm in shape and go from there... If there is a settlement and I go down or have to find another team so be it.. if the season starts with Replacements, then so be that!!! I just plain want to throw a baseball.. because I still can!!!
Picture day tomorrow so gotta go shave and get myself presentable...
