March 26, 1995

Well not all that much today...It's an early post, I was supposed to throw over in Winter Haven against the Indians... but Bruce Kison scratched for today... I am getting a start against the Reds tomorrow... nothing to get all that excited about, they just want me to stretch my arm out a little. 45 pitches... that could be 9 innings at 5 pitches an ining... yeah right!!! or the more realistic 3 innings of 15 pitches an inning... but anyway its a start...

With the NLRB and their Sunday meeting the guys are kind of restless. We all realize it can end at any time, and have to accept that. Gene Mauch had a few comments in the Sunday Orlando Sentinal.. he said that he feels it will last a while longer (May to June) because the owners have been losing the battles for the last 23 years... and they really want to win this one... The owners, as I understand, would lock the real guys out if the NLRB votes against the owners, and the players have said they would come back if that was done... problem is that the owners do not want to go back to the old way of doing things... and would therefore lock the players out...

My feelings are this... I would love to see a settlement at this time... I really do NOT want to cross... My arm is feeling very good and I am starting to feel like I could make a serious come-back... crossing in regular season games would make things very hard if I ever got back... but my first responsiblity is to my family and myself. And I will play in the season games if they happen... I have agreed to do so and will hold up my end...

I got a great negative email the other day... he was very disgruntled and I would be too if my home team was not playing (he's from Baltimore) at all... but he decided to vent his frustration on me... well I have to say he is entitled to his opinion and I read his email and promptly deleted it... but not before replying...

It turns out he was on a scab hating binge and I was his only outlet... he is off on the wrong tangent in his hatred... he should instead fly to one of the meetings and scream obsenities at Donald Fehr and all the guys following him around...

I finally found a subject for my brain (486 and MB) transplant... but since I am in a hotel this guy who is buying my 486 is kinda shy about dealing with some guy who lives in a hotel and will be out in 6 days... I don't blame him...
Hey (light bulb just went off) some of you send him some E-mail and let him know I am on the up and up... just kidding ;)

gotta go...

I will need my rest for tomorrow...

Quote for the day: Its a great day to play two...

later
