Well I am back!!!
After posting my last post before dismantling me 'ol 486, I never left my belief that the strike would end before the 'real' season would start...
The game could not handle a season of replacements... not to degrade the play and desire of all of us but The reason we were hired was to 'fill in' for the real guys...
We spent 48 hours of hell in Atlanta... but all that did was bring the 32 of us closer and that is exactly what we did.. while the all the US was waiting for the Sunday decision... we had a group of about 18-20 of us just sitting around and talking baseball Would it end? Would we really play this year? these were some thing that came across groups minds...
I have finally found a place to sit down and send this post in... and also a laptop to use to post with... I have borrowed this Compaq Contura and it is quite nice but when you have a P5-100 with 32 megs of ram this little 486sx-25 is kinda like a 'replacement' player compared with the real thing... It gets the job done but works a lot harder
After the Atlanta incident we were all flown back to Orlando and stayed in the same old hotel for one more night and then marched in the next morning for our releases or offers ..
Yours truly was offered the chance to play in AAA Omaha and jumped on it... the money was a little less than I would like... but If I am still around after the Major League team starts the season... alot of 40 man roster guys have to be sent down... I was told I would be offered a little more... but truthfully... I would play for enough to pay my bills and of course enough for a laptop!!!! the extra 5,000 the Royals gave us all was a tremendous gesture... and a little might be used for a decent laptop...

I also will add some more from the last week in later posts... I have a double-header tomorrow and need some sleep...
